ABOUT

Lydia Chapman began her studies with a foundation year at Oxford Brookes University, followed by a year at Edinburgh College of Art, specializing in Fine Art Painting. She then spent four years at Charles H. Cecil Studios in Florence, where she trained in the sight-size method used by painters such as Van Dyck and Sargent.
Now based in London, Lydia focuses on portraiture while also exploring landscape and still life. She works from her studio on Talgarth Road in Barons Court. Her work has been exhibited in galleries, commissioned for private collections, and displayed in public spaces, including The Hero pub in Maida Vale and The Fat Badger. In 2025, she received an honorable mention in the Portrait Society of America's Future Generations competition.
